Triumph and Unity: Recapitulating the Grandeur of Bal Bharati Public School’s Annual Sports Day 2023
On the 22nd of December 2023, Bal Bharati Public School hosted its much-awaited Sports Day with great ardour and zeal. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Harsh Nath Chakraborty, Head of Plant NTPC and Vice-Chairman of Bal Bharati Public School Darilpali, along with various other dignitaries from NTPC and education sectors. Other prominent dignitaries graced the occasion including Mr. T.K Bageshwar,General Manager; Miss Pratibha Singh, HO HR; Miss Sangita Bakla, Senior Manager HR; Miss Naina Kujur, Block Education Officer. The presence of such accomplished individuals added prestige to the occasion.
The lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the felicitation of the esteemed guests had set the stage for the grand event. The unfurling of the School flag had been a moment of pride, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem and a Guard of Honour by the students.
The March Past, showcasing discipline and coordination, had been a testament to the dedication of the students. The Torch Lighting and Oath Taking ceremonies had imbued the atmosphere with a sense of sportsmanship and commitment. The event had then transitioned into various physical demonstrations, beginning with Surya Namaskar and Yoga, promoting holistic well-being. The energetic Zumba performance had highlighted the importance of rhythmic fitness, captivating the audience with its vibrant choreography.
Newly introduced games such as Kitkit, Baghacheli, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Volleyball had been demonstrated, showcasing the school’s commitment to diverse sporting activities. The warm-up presentation by Foundation Level kids had added a touch of innocence and charm to the proceedings.
Mr. Harsh Nath Chakraborty, the Chief Guest, had delivered an inspiring address, encouraging students to pursue excellence in both academics and sports. The principal had also shared words of wisdom, emphasising the holistic development of each student.
The declaration of the Sports Meet had marked the commencement of a series of events, some important events such as the -:

- Zig Zag Race
- Collect the basket race
- Long jump
- High jump
- shot put
- Ball throw
- A special mother-child event “Mum, Tum Aur Hum.”
The prize distribution ceremonies for both categories recognised and rewarded the outstanding performances of the students. The Honourable principal awarded the winners for their outstanding performances in sports with medals, trophies, and certificates.
The closing ceremony was a culmination of a day filled with excitement, achievements, and camaraderie. The vote of thanks expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event, and the National Anthem brought the day to a befitting close.
In essence, the Annual Sports Day at Bal Bharati Public School had been a celebration of athleticism, spirit, and unity, leaving indelible memories for students, parents, and guests alike. The school remained committed to fostering a culture of sports and physical well-being for its students.
