Club Activity – 1

Clubs at Schools enhance learning through interaction and discussion. Every activity carried out by the club will encourage students to cultivate a different perception of life. Students get an opportunity to showcase and groom their talents. Activities conducted in school not only benefit in shaping their interests and hobbies but also develop their leadership and social skills. The first club activities for the session 2023-24 was conducted on Monday, 21st August 2023.

Nature Club- The students of classes I-III created a nature art by using waste papers, reused and recycled materials under the theme ‘Every day is Earth day’. The students of classes IV-VI made a model on different method of rainwater harvesting and demonstrated the model. The students of classes VII-X created a working model on ozone depletion and explained the preventive measures of Ozone layer depletion.

Interact Club- Students of classes I-III made a handmade card with a message and attached it with a book which they wish to donate. The students of IV-VI Students made a handmade band for the community helpers and the students of classes VII-X were taught the art of tie and dye by the teacher and they coloured T-shirts using the tie and dye technique by following the instruction.

Health and Wellness- The theme of the 1st club activity was ‘More control less risk’ in which the students of classes I-III prepared a chart of healthy vs junk food and acquired the knowledge of the harmful effects of junk food in our health and the importance of healthy diet. The students of classes IV-VI prepared posters on ‘say no to tobacco’ to create awareness about the injurious consequence of tobacco and nicotine consumption and power point presentations were presented by the students of classes VII-X on the topic ‘Equalize-Addressing disparities’ where they orated about including the HYV-AIDS sufferers to the mainstream society.

Budding scientists club- To make the creativity of the students more visually appealing and integrating Mathematics with expressiveness of the students different activities were conducted. The students of classes I-III created a scenery using different geometrical shapes. Students of classes IV-VI created a geometric art with the help of strings. Polyhedrons such as cubes, octahedron etc. were made by the students of classes VII-X by cutting and folding of paper and interlocking them which created a visual impact of solid shapes.

Digital and Photography club– Students were introduced to fundamental skills of photography by a resource person Mr. Jacob Debbarma and they also learnt different details such as holding a camera, natural framing, usage of colours and contrast. Students also displayed their best capture of their natural surroundings. Students enthusiastically took part in their respective club activities and foster their creative and interactive skills.
