In an effort to encourage critical thinking and foster open dialogue among students, a language enhancement activity titled “Voices Deserved to Be Heard” was conducted on September 18, 2023. The event, which took place at Bal Bharati Public School, saw enthusiastic participation from students of grades six to ten. The activity aimed to empower young minds by providing them with a platform to express their opinions on three compelling topics: “Impact of Social Media on Today’s Youth,” “The Importance of Being a Responsible Citizen,” and “Artificial Intelligence: Boon or Bane?”. Each student was given the opportunity to choose one of these topics and deliver a thoughtful speech lasting three to four minutes, articulating their unique perspective. Some spoke about the positive impact of social media on youth, arguing that it can be a powerful tool for connecting with others and learning about the world. Another discussed the importance of being a responsible citizen, emphasizing the need to participate in the democratic process and to make informed decisions. While other explored the potential benefits and drawbacks of artificial intelligence, arguing that it is important to use AI responsibly and ethically.
The event was a resounding success, with students showcasing their ability to engage in meaningful discourse and present their viewpoints with confidence and clarity. “Voices Deserved to Be Heard” undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the young minds, reminding them that their voices deserve to be heard in the world of ideas and beyond.
