Good etiquette encompasses a range of behaviours, from basic courtesy to nuanced cultural practices, helping individuals navigate social situations with confidence and grace. Manners reflect our values and attitudes toward others, promoting a sense of respect and consideration that fosters positive relationships.

A special Interactive Session-General Etiquettes & Manners was organized on Monday,30th September,2024 for classes Pre-School & Pre-Primary.

This workshop helped the students to shape their overall behaviour, boost their self-confidence and enhance personal and social values. Teacher demonstrated general etiquettes, table manners also good eating habits, way of eating and communication etiquettes through a video presentation and story. They acquired  polite behaviour, communication etiquettes & life skills.

The session was informative and helpful in relation to general etiquettes & manners to build relationship with people with positive approach towards work.

Bal Bharati Public School NTPC Darlipali organized a Pottery Workshop-Clay Impressions for Classes I-X on September 20.9. 2024. The event aimed to introduce students to the traditional craft of pottery, enhancing creativity and fine motor skills through hands-on experience. The session was led by Mr. Khageswar Jharakhani, a skilled artisan with extensive experience of pottery. The workshop was conducted in separate sessions for different grade groups to ensure age-appropriate activities and learning experiences.

Classes I-III: Students learned basic hand-building techniques like pinch pots and coiling, focusing on playful exploration.

Classes IV-VI: More advanced techniques such as pattern creation and decorative designs were introduced.

Classes VII-X: Students practiced wheel pottery, learned to shape clay vessels using different techniques.

The workshop was highly engaging, with students showing great enthusiasm. It developed creativity, patience, and precision among students. School’s commitment to holistic education was once again demonstrated through this enriching experience. The students walked away not only with a sense of accomplishment but learnt new skills.

"Embroidery is the art of turning threads into stories and fabric into a canvas of creativity."

 To provide students with a wide range of career options to foster their individual strengths, interests, and aspirations, Bal Bharati Public School NTPC Darlipali conducted a ‘Skill Club Workshop-Thread Rhythm’ on Friday, 16.8.2024 for classes V-X, which familiarize the students with the basics of embroidery, from understanding different types of stitches to applying these techniques creatively on fabric. The workshop sought to nurture the artistic talents of students while providing them with a hands-on experience in a traditional craft that has both cultural significance and modern appeal. The session was led by Mrs. Pammi Pattnaik, a skilled embroiderer with years of experience in the field. The session began with a brief introduction to the history and cultural importance of embroidery, highlighting its evolution from a traditional craft to a modern art form. The instructor then demonstrated various fundamental stitches, including the running stitch, backstitch, chain stitch, and French knots.

Students were guided step-by-step through the process of creating simple yet beautiful designs. The hands-on session allowed students to practice the stitches under the guidance of the instructor and volunteer teachers.

The students showed remarkable enthusiasm and dedication throughout the workshop. They experimented with different stitches and patterns, expressing their creativity through their unique designs. The workshop was highly successful in achieving its goals. Students gained valuable skills in embroidery, which not only enhanced their artistic abilities but also instilled a sense of patience and attention to detail.

A workshop titled "Fold and Fastening: The Art of Precision" was conducted by BBPS NTPC Darlipali for students of Classes I-IV. The event aimed to teach young students essential life skills through engaging hands-on activities focused on folding, buttoning, zipping, and shoelace tying. These tasks were chosen to help students develop fine motor skills, coordination, and independence in their daily lives.

The workshop was structured into four activity segments, each focusing on a different skill:

  1. Folding Techniques: At the first segment, students learned the art of precise folding, starting with simple items like napkins and progressing to more complex tasks like folding clothes. The activity emphasized the importance of neatness and accuracy in daily routines.
  2. Buttoning Practice: The second segment was dedicated to buttoning. Students were provided with shirts and fabric swatches to practice buttoning and unbuttoning. Teachers guided them on how to properly align buttons with buttonholes, a skill crucial for dressing independently.
  3. Zipping Mastery: At the third segment, students practiced zipping using jackets, bags, and other items with zippers. The activity was designed to help students develop coordination and ensure they could operate zippers smoothly without assistance.
  4. Shoelace Tying: The final segment focused on tying shoelaces. Students practiced different methods of tying laces, from basic knots to bows. This station aimed to equip students with the skills needed to tie their shoes independently, promoting both motor skills and confidence.

Each segment featured interactive demonstrations followed by practice sessions. Students worked individually and in pairs, receiving personalized guidance from the instructors. The hands-on nature of the workshop allowed students to apply what they learned immediately, reinforcing their skills through repetition and practice.

By focusing on fundamental skills like folding, buttoning, zipping, and shoelace tying, the workshop equipped students with practical abilities that will benefit them throughout their lives.

The Self-Governance Workshop was held on Friday, August 2, 2024 for classes I-III, aimed at equipping students with essential self-management skills. The primary objectives were to underscore the importance of self-management in achieving academic and personal success. Additionally, the workshop aimed to enhance students' ability to self-motivate and maintain focus, and to encourage the adoption of healthy habits and routines. The workshop was structured into four main sessions, each focusing on different aspects of space organization: understanding the importance of an organized space, decluttering techniques, creating functional study spaces and developing healthy habits. The activity emphasized maintaining an organized space, with strategies for developing daily and weekly routines, using organizational tools and apps, and performing regular reviews and adjustments.

The Workshop has equipped students with essential skills for academic success and personal growth, laying a strong foundation for them to become well-rounded, organized, and productive individuals.

"Baking is both an art and a science, where creativity meets precision. It transforms simple ingredients into moments of joy and connection."

 To upgrade the proficiency of the young generation and to provide them awareness to explore various career options, Bal Bharati Public School NTPC Darlipali conducted a ‘Skill Club Workshop-Crust and Crumb’ on Friday, 2.8.2024 for classes IV-X, which provided the students practical baking skills and knowledge. The session was led by Mrs. Tabassum Siddique and Mrs. Soniya Sahu, professional bakers with extensive experience in both commercial and home baking. The workshop was divided into several key segments:

Introduction to Baking Basics: The workshop began with an introduction to essential baking ingredients and tools. Students learned about the roles of various ingredients such as flour, sugar, curd, and leavening agents, as well as the importance of measuring accurately.

Decorating Techniques: Apart from baking, students had the opportunity to learn the techniques of decorating a cake. The instructor demonstrated various decorating techniques using icing, sprinkles, and edible decorations.

Feedback and Reflection: The workshop concluded with a feedback session where students shared their thoughts and experiences. The instructor provided constructive feedback and answered questions, ensuring that students left with a clear understanding of the baking techniques covered.

The baking workshop was an enriching experience for all involved, successfully meeting its objectives of education and enjoyment.

A workshop on the topic ‘Adolescence and its challenges’ was conducted at Bal Bharati Public School, Darlipali NTPC on 12th July 2024. The students of classes VI-X were involved. Further a power point presentation on the topic was presented. The counselor made the students aware about the problems faced during the period of adolescence and how to cope with the same. The students interacted with the counselor and raised their queries. The presenter also interacted and asked questions to students. The counselor got positive responses from the students getting maximum participation.

Thus the overall workshop was a huge success and the outcome was fruitful.

A Special Interactive Session -General Manners and Etiquettes & Good touch and Bad touch was organized on Friday, 12th July,2024 for classes I-V. The session featured a power point presentation, demonstrations and short movie “Komal “.

The students participated in this session with great enthusiasm. The Teacher Coordinator discussed about the general etiquettes, table manners and communication etiquettes using a video. The students learned various behavioural aspects, how to exchange greetings & table manners that would certainly help them to learn and build relationships and adopt desired behaviour and etiquette.

Through the PowerPoint presentation and the short movie they learned that a Good touch is full of warmth and is comfortable, on the other hand bad touch is risky and makes one feel uneasy. They were sensitized about protecting themselves in uncomfortable situation.

The session was highly informative and helpful in relation to child safety.

A bouquet of flowers is a message expressed without emotions, which have the innate ability to convey a spectrum of emotions.

To foster the creative skill of the students, Bal Bharati Public School, NTPC Darlipali organised a skill club activity named Blossom and beyond on Friday, 19th July 2024. The activity included the student from classes I-X. In this activity, students made varieties of handmade paper bouquets in groups. Adding to it they were able to expand their out-of-the-box thinking and learnt different new and innovative techniques to make flowers from colourful papers and assembled them in exquisite bouquets.

It was a memorable activity, where all the students took part enthusiastically and were encouraged to continue their journey to discover creative ways to beautify their surroundings.

An International Webinar on ‘Maintaining Human Relation & Harmony’ was held on Friday, 8th January 2021 to prepare our Students for Global Scaffold & Future Readiness. The session was held live on Facebook/Social Media.

The external resource person for the programme is an eminent speaker with vast experience in evaluating educational programmes and projects, Ms. Pupjana Kole. She is the Programme Coordinator in Academic Leadership at Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Walden University, USA

The webinar was very informative and interactive. The major points discussed during the webinar were:

  • Maintaining human relations is need of the hour to maintain global peace.
  • Technology is important but it cannot replace humans.
  • It is imperative to stimulate creativity among young minds for a better world.
  • The 14 Principles of Human Relation that plays an important role and helps in maintaing harmonious relationship were also discussed.

The webinar led to a significant impact on students that will help them in nurturing every moment of life maintaining a harmonious relationship with other people in their lives.

A webinar on child safety and cyber-crime was held on Friday,20th November 2020  to sensitize the students against child abuse and cyber-crime. The resource person for the webinar was Ms. Mitali Chatterjee from Bal Bharati Public School, Delhi NCR who is a renowned counselor and psycho therapist. The webinar focused on  the following areas-

·       Easy tips to ensure child safety

·       Types of social crime,

·       Cyber etiquettes

·       Safe social networking.

The Students actively participated and asked their queries and doubts in the post question answer session.

Awareness about the social threats and how to deal with them were the important takeaways.
